Coming to you solo again from beautiful Costa Rica, which means “rich coast.” I’ve had lots of time to think here, while working on my tan and watching surfers in the Pacific Ocean from our balcony.

In this episode, I talk about life, travel, and things on my mind lately—specifically the Kyren Lacy tragedy, which is a story that hits close to home—not just because one of my best represents him, but because of my own connection to the Lacy family in Louisiana. It’s the sort of sad situation that reminds us of what really matters.

I also discuss market euphoria and investor greed, Buffett’s lessons on leverage and patience, the Big Tish indictment, the Nobel Peace Prize controversy, and much more.

Here are the topics discussed:
  • Surfing
  • Harry Styles’ song “As It Was”
  • Former LSU football star Kyren Lacy
  • Public attention surrounding the car accident
  • Defense attorney Matt Ory’s involvement
  • Man Overseas podcast growth
  • Alanis Morisette’s song “Ironic”
  • Police version of Kyren Lacy accident
  • My connection to the Lacy family
  • Visiting Vienna & Budapest last month
  • Watching surfers in Costa Rica
  • How my day is similar to Morgan Housel’s
  • Market reflections on investor greed
  • Warren Buffett’s wisdom on leverage
  • Investing in AST SpaceMobile and leveraged ETF ASTX
  • Risk management & Buffett’s philosophy on debt
  • Political updates: spying on GOP Senators & Big Tish indictment
  • IRS furloughs & Inflation Reduction Act
  • Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader
  • Maria Corina Machado dedicates Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump
  • Gun ownership, school shootings, and transsexuals
  • Stephen Miller’s communication & debate skills
  • Emotional intelligence, ego, and self-awareness
  • Advice on detachment, journaling, and self-reflection
  • Analogy of emotion and logic as “the horse and the rider”
  • Gurwinder concept: False Consensus Effect

In this episode, I talk about the Netflix Roast of Kevin Hart, breaking down why it fell short compared to the Tom Brady roast.
