Josh is a sharp young attorney from Toronto, Canada. He runs his own law firm by day, and by night helps solopreneurs navigate the difficult and often lonely journey of starting a business.

He’s been through so many ups and downs starting his own businesses that he decided to start sharing his thoughts, struggles, and triumphs, in a short email he sends 3x a week. If anyone asked me about starting their own business, I would say, “You should talk to my buddy Josh.”

Joining Josh’s email list is like taking a sneak peek into an entrepreneur’s journal. He tells you exactly what it’s like in the trenches of the solopreneur journey—lessons gleaned not only from his own experience but also those he interviews on his Solopreneur Grind Podcast (my guest appearance on SG has >2,000 downloads).

Josh and I always have great conversations. Here are the highlights from today’s episode:

Lamar Fairmint is a young man I’m lucky to know. I finally got a chance to meet him in Costa Rica at the Retreat—no question he had the most interesting background of anyone who attended. In this episode, we talk about what it was like growing up on the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Eastern Oregon.

About

Hi there! I’m the Man Overseas, a thirty-something-year-old from Houston, TX, who in 2015, took a year-long sabbatical from a lucrative sales job in the States to travel the world on passive real estate income.
After one year abroad, I discovered the FIRE (financial independence retire early) community, and have since become a proverbial card-carrying member.
