This will likely be the last episode of 2025. I start with a car accident story, followed by another setback I had recently. Both incidents have me slowing down and reassessing how to navigate the day-to-day with limited mobility. It’s been a frustrating finale to ’25. But I’m hopeful 2026 is going to be lit like New Year’s celebrations in Germany back before Islamic terrorists they imported caused them to cancel festivities.

In this episode, I pick back up with Morgan Housel’s The Art of Spending Money, keeping the focus broad and practical. The discussion centers on how money decisions are deeply emotional, how status-chasing erodes happiness, and why independence, flexibility, and peace of mind matter far more than looking rich.

I also give an update in the best movie ever: Rob Reiner’s death, Bernie Sanders’ brand of progressivism, AI data centers, Epstein files release, and much more.

Topics discussed:
  • Car accident in Louisiana
  • Slipping at the gym
  • Continuing Morgan Housel’s The Art of Spending Money
  • Building a reading habit by choosing hard-to-put-down books i.e. Dan Brown
  • October 2025 Louvre heist
  • Social envy as a never-ending comparison cycle
  • Independence as the true goal of money
  • Teenage mental health study comparing rich & poor environments
  • Status competition among wealthy suburban kids
  • Sports events as an opportunity to connect
  • Formula for a good life
  • Independence + purpose
  • Redefining “rich” as control of time & schedule
  • Financial independence existing on a spectrum
  • Debt as a claim on future optionality
  • Independence enabling free speech & action
  • Keeping success private to preserve fulfillment
  • Quiet compounding
  • FIRE movement becoming identity-driven and cult-like
  • Charlie Munger example of money becoming identity
  • How to alter your perception of time (slow it down)
  • John D. Rockefeller story about raising children with perspective
  • Charlie Munger on inheritance and ambition
  • Zig Ziglar story to his granddaughter about money
  • Ramit Sethi’s focus on big vs. small financial decisions
  • Identifying misery to define happiness
  • Charlie Munger advice on avoiding destructive behaviors
  • Cancellation of New Year’s celebrations in Europe
  • Fulton County admission of election law violations
  • Big Fani’s courtroom behavior

Mardi Gras, Mexican Cartels, Nazi Olympics

I start this episode with ‘funnies’ from the past week, then get into the Winter Olympics in Milan. How thrilling would it be to have a luge track nearby that you could use? Problem is there are only four of them in America. In this episode, I break down the differences between luge, skeleton, and

Why the Long Face?

In this episode, I share my ‘physiognomical theory of everything,’ and what could unaffectionately be referred to as “communist face.” Here I discuss facial structures, perceived softness, and why certain public figures project a collectivist energy based solely on appearance. This eventually turns into a broader conversation about leadership, optics, and testosterone (or lack thereof).
