In this solo episode, I share the story of our unexpected journey from Berchtesgaden, Germany, to Budapest, Hungary. Our month-long stay in Berchtesgaden was cut short. But it turned into an adventurous detour due to a problem with our Airbnb.

We “trained” 8 hours east. From Germany – Austria – Hungary, finally settling in my 2nd-favorite city in the world: Budapest.

I also talk about a recent Twitter/X ‘beef’ about parenting, and why going to the Coldplay concert in Munich was a non-negotiable for me.

Here’s what else is discussed:

  • The UK under new prime minister, Keir Starmer
  • British government arresting people for political speech online
  • My Twitter/X beef about parenting and letting toddlers make mistakes
  • Theory linking ADHD to ancestral traits of skilled hunters in hunter-gatherer societies
  • Man’s vices were once virtues
  • Different ways of saying “taking a shower”
  • Airbnb’s insurance policy for hosts
  • Getting a refund from AirBnB when your stay is cut short
  • Less than affordable accommodations in Salzburg, Munich, and other major Euro cities
  • Budapest as the “Paris of the East”
  • City layout: Buda (residential) vs Pest (tourist-friendly)
  • Viking River Cruises are not so expensive
  • Budapest thermal baths – Lukács, Gellért, and Széchenyi Baths
  • Abusive kindergarten and 1st grade teachers
  • Attending Coldplay concert in Munich
  • Reuniting with a friend from Nuremburg
  • Advice on “buddies” vs “friends”
  • Hearing Coldplay for the first time in Paris
  • Upcoming travel plans

Dr. Drew, 72 Minutes to Chaos, America’s Exceptional (from Medellín)

This episode kicks off with Dr. Drew’s discussion with retired Intel officer Drew Miller about societal collapse and grid-down scenarios.
